Teresa Miranda, Mexican National Missionary to the Chol Indians n Northern Chiapas, Mexico

My dearest brethren…. I greet you in the name of our Celestial Father and thank you for all the efforts you make to keep the on our race.

Thanks to the aid of my home church, I was able to do a check up that truly was way over due. As I have share with you in the past that my health was not doing very good at all. When I walk through the jungles I got fatigue very fast and easy, to the point that I got scare because many times I almost fainted. The diagnostic is that I have Otitis, sinuses, and many allergies and top of Typhoid fever, colitis, and gastritis. Well, what can I tell you, I know that I am on the hands of our heavenly Father, and I am taking all the medications prescribed to me.

I was in Guadalajara for about two week at the Abarim Home. Sister Norma who is the administrator of the Home received me with much enthusiasm. I can share that I was greatly uplifted and encouraged while with them. You know, I met many awesome elderly people, one that caught my attention was a widow, sister in Christ of 92 years old who used to be a missionary. Her name is Raquel Aguirre de Mendez. When I came to her to say goodbye, the few words she said got me deep in my heart: “How I wish I could go with you, but I know I can” while at the home she shared so many of her experiences on the mission field going through rivers, other times on horse back. The revelation of her life blessed me so much and I know the Lord planned this meeting for us to share together.

I am taking all the medication the doctor gave me and I am feeling a little better. I am planning to have a second check up when I go to San Luis Potosi as I have been invited to aid along with other teaches in the conference: “Cultural Empathy” at the Summer Linguistic Institute this month. This will help me to continue training all those who feel call by the Lord to live in a culture different than the one they grew up in order to take His word to them.

Many of the Choles brethren are very much excited about the new organization. Many families have worked hard to install the roof. We believe our organization will come through on the month of September. They were very sad to hear that I was going to leave in order to receive medical attention, but they saw the wisdom of the trip. They committed to pray and I know they fulfilled their promise.

We are continuing the discipling and training of Choles leader in Cecabi and trying to contextualize the message with the power of our God so it will continue to reach their hearts.

I have learned that a strong church is not one that have a lot of activities, not even a great membership, or many missions, or much money but a strong church is that one that have produce unconditional disciples who are willing to go through the multitudes, in the middle of the throne of a tribe, linage, tongue and nation.

Prayer Request

Please pray;

That the Lord will grant me wisdom so I can transmit the teachings, and reflect Christ through and with my life.
For the work we are doing to be contextualized to the times and culture and bring much fruits. For the formation of unconditional disciples, willing to spend their lives at the service of the Lord Jesus.
For the missionary Team …
Brother Julian and his family. (Who are working in Lazaro Cardenas area),

Brother Jose Encino and his family (who live in the community of Naranjos)

And your servant, Teresa Miranda, (who serves in the town of November 20th)

For the upcoming formal organization of our church in the town of November
20th of the Sabanilla County. Also for the Lazaro Cardenas (Pastor Julian

Martinez works) probably all these legalities will come through in September.

Our brethren here are so excited.

May our Lord continue to mold your lives and your churches by his grace. May He continue to strengthening your churches to develop unconditional disciples, yes, true disciples!

Much regards, your sister

Teresa Miranda
