 Meet
Marta and Gerardo Tzay Jochola. The fact that they were born in
the cradle of the Mayan empire has made them unique tools in the
work of the Lord in Guatemala because they can speak three Mayan
dialects as well as Spanish.
They are currently pastoring a church in a village in the mountains
of Guatemala. Recently, NMM recievied this letter -

 My
dearly beloved brother and sister: Jesu naca tin ra! Jesus loves you
in Quiche….Through your faithful partnership of prayer, words
of encouragement, love, and financial support...You have been speaking
about Christ in a Mayan dialect. Here are a few of the members of
the new church in Itchil you help start. Itchil is an area where the
Indians have shut the doors to any outside missionaries. Through you
faithfulness and empowerment to Martha and Gerardo, they have been
reaching the the lost for Christ. Gerardo would like to informed you
that six more people have come to Christ, 18 have re- dedicated
their lives and 4 marriages have been restored. Also, He would like
to share the joy that 4 of the couples that have come to kow Christ,
will be getting married...One of the couples is over 80 years olds.
They came to Gerardo and said: “We have lived in sin, and we
would like to be right in the Eyes of our New Lord”. Gerardo
& Marta send their grateful greetings and say: “Thank you
for hearing our cry and providing aid for us...the Lord has stretched
your gifts and we have been able to use some of your financial aid
for gas….and together, we have been able to travel to the far
regions of Itchil and reach these souls for Christ. We love you and
diligently pray for you. Once day a month, we climb the mountain for
a complete day of fasting and praying in your behalf. Receive our
love and hugs. You are so dear and special to us! Gerardo and Martha
